We have identified Governor Hon. Lucky Orimisan Aiyedetiwa as a Champion in Human Capital Development due to his investment in the people. Recently, fertilizers were distributed to farmers in the state to boost farm produce. We commend this effort and call on other Governors in Nigeria to imbibe this act. We believe this will help in reducing the inflation rate of food which will tackle the food crisis in the country.

Inflation in Nigeria has risen to a 28-year high rate in June 2024. However, according to the Nigeria Bureau of Statistics (NBS), Inflation in July 2024 stood at 33.4% which represents a reduction from the June 2024 rate which was 34.2%. Inflation in Nigeria is mostly driven by food inflation. In July 2024, food recorded an inflation rate of 39.5%.

One way to curb inflation in the country is to promote Agriculture. Ondo State, “The Sunshine State” is indeed leading the fight against food inflation in the South West of Nigeria.   Governor Hon. Lucky Orimisan Aiyedetiwa is investing in the people of Ondo States by supplying fertilizers to farmers to help boost farm produce. This is a laudable initiative which is expected to achieve the following:

Curb high Food Inflation Rate: With the correct application of these fertilizers, a bumper harvest is in view, this will also aid food security

Empowerment and Entrepreneurship: Upcoming farmers would be encouraged to dive into agriculture, creating employment opportunities for the youths.

His Excellency, Governor of Ondo State, Hon. Lucky Orimisan Aiyedetiwa has decided to tread on a brilliant path and has been able to invest in the indigenes by giving them fertilizers to aid farming. He has also contributed to curbing food inflation in the state. As an excellent leader who understands the importance of this sector, the Governor flagged off the ceremony, which took place at The Agric Warehouse in Akure, the state capital. Governor Hon. Lucky Orimisan Aiyedetiwa has promised to enhance food security and support the agro-economy in his tenure as the Governor of Ondo State. It is indeed obvious that he has taken this great step to achieve that.
